[Remote] Content Strategist/Translator - Contractor

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Off Base Productions is a creative agency focused on revolutionizing the entertainment and gaming realms. They are seeking a Content Strategist/Translator to provide translation services and develop content strategies for gaming and entertainment clients, working closely with account and creative teams.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the account, creative, and content strategy teams to provide PR/Communications counsel based on client and agency deliverables
• Build and support in executing communications plans for internal agency marketing and client initiatives
• Support the account and content strategy teams with creative ideation for both global and Japan-specific content, providing feedback and direction for internal or external creatives as needed
• Support in account/project management (client meetings, invoicing, timesheet tracking, detailed agendas/recaps)
• Developing and executing against a content strategy, maintaining content calendars, and publishing content on social channels/WordPress
• Developing and writing copy for social ads, website content, and social media posts when applicable
• Stay on top of relevant social trends, platform updates, and digital insights
• Developing strategic project/creative briefs for social posts, blogs, or website content
• Work embedded with our primary client team, providing on-demand translation services across all types of subjects, audiences, and mediums
• Provide editing, proofreading, quality assurance, and content review across all types of subjects, audiences, and mediums, including across multiple clients, as requested by head of content strategy department and in assistance of cross functional agency teams
• Work closely with the account and content strategy teams to support additional translation and localization requirements across client and agency deliverables
• Conduct needed administrative, tracking, and account management-related tasks as required by the position and account
• Regularly receive and act on guidance and feedback from client and account leads to continuously improve deliverables
• Prioritizing and managing multiple priority projects efficiently and effectively
• Lead documentation efforts and build style guide, key terminology glossary, and brand standards that can be shared with internal and external partners
• Demonstrate a commitment to Off Base values of putting people first, working collaboratively to find solutions, and exceeding client expectations
• Adheres to ethical business practices by striving to perform in a manner that conforms to the highest standards of ethical behavior, integrity, and honesty

Skills

• Bachelor's degree in English, Marketing, Communications, or related field experience
• Must read and write at a fluent level in at least two languages, for this role - English and Japanese
• Must have prior experience doing translations and be able to provide proof of language fluency
• Must be able to interpret Japanese and English technical conversations, quickly and accurately
• Must have a strong pulse on the latest social media/marketing trends and gaming/entertainment landscape
• Must have excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
• Strong ability to over-communicate via multiple mediums (Slack, email, Zoom), stay organized, and be self-motivated to meet deadlines
• Strong communications skills, with demonstrated ability to write client documents, convey clear messaging in both written (client emails) and verbal formats (client meetings and presentations) with supervision as needed
• Strong project management abilities, able to balance multiple workstreams with different stakeholders, teams, and deadlines
• A focus for delivering the highest quality client service possible
• An innovation mindset that finds opportunities to optimize and improve processes/workflow
• A detail-oriented work ethic that pays attention to the little things, with strong proofreading ability
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Adobe CC, and SRT editors
• Self-starter/self-motivation with a “can do” attitude
• Creative thinker willing to brainstorm and contribute ideas
• Must have work hour flexibility, including overtime, nights, and weekends, as needed, to meet deadlines
• Fluency in both English and Japanese and can provide a portfolio of work demonstrating proficiency
• Expertise in PR, Communications, social media, content publishing, or relevant field
• Experience in supporting client deliverables via project management with tight timelines
