Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist to join our Access Center team. As a Customer Service Representative, you'll be responsible for answering a high volume of inbound calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities. You'll utilize our electronic health record system to validate and capture clinical and financial information, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care. Responsibilities

As a Part-Time Remote Customer Service Specialist, you'll be responsible for:

  • Navigating our electronic health record system to obtain and validate historical information, capturing and documenting demographic and financial information, and maintaining patient privacy and security as outlined by HIPAA.
  • Managing a high volume of incoming calls from patients, healthcare providers, and facilities, ensuring resolution to the call and providing excellent customer service in a variety of situations.
  • Leveraging critical thinking with speed and accuracy to identify the reason for the call and take appropriate action based on caller need and acuity.
  • Scheduling patient visits based on complex provider preferences, verifying and updating insurance, and collecting and documenting demographics.
  • Maintaining proficiency in and sharing knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions, and communicating directly with providers (physicians) to relay pertinent clinical information during after hours.
  • Managing calls within established performance and customer service standards, achieving targeted abandoned call rate, average speed of answer, and average transaction time.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-5 years of recent healthcare or customer service experience
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
  • Proficiency in electronic health record systems and customer service software
  • Strong typing skills (minimum speed 35 wpm, 90% accuracy)

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working in a healthcare or customer service environment

  • Knowledge of insurance basics, MyChart, and appointment instructions
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with electronic health record systems and customer service software
