UX/UI Designers /Remote/ Contract/

Work from home Full-time role Hiring

If you love the space where design, storytelling, and human experience meet — you’ll feel right at home here.

About Us

Nexus is a boutique strategic and creative consultancy that helps organizations bring their culture and purpose to life. Our work connects People with Purpose by integrating discovery and insight, strategy, and storytelling to shape experiences that inspire and strengthen culture. We partner with leading organizations to uncover what makes them unique and translate it into narratives, programs, and experiences that align people, brand, and performance. With dedicated teams spanning content, creative, digital, video and podcast production — backed by strong project managers — we turn insight into action and strategy into change. We help organizations express who they are in ways that engage talent, elevate culture, and drive meaningful impact. The Opportunity We’re looking for UX/UI Designers (Contract, Remote) who are both analytical and creative — designers who understand how people think, how they navigate digital experiences, and how thoughtful interaction design can drive clarity, engagement, and measurable outcomes. In this role, you’ll design intuitive, on-brand digital experiences across a range of platforms. You’ll collaborate across strategy, writing, and production teams to translate insights into wireframes, prototypes, and fully realized digital interfaces that feel purposeful, modern, and human-centered. If you thrive in fast-moving environments, love solving experience challenges, and enjoy bringing structure and elegance to complex information — you’ll excel here. What You’ll Do

  • Interpret client needs, business goals, and user insights to shape intuitive, meaningful digital experiences.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define personas, journey maps, and experience flows.
  • Design wireframes, interactive components, and full pages across websites, landing pages, intranets, digital platforms, and eLearning modules.
  • Present concepts and solutions to clients — clearly articulating the "why" behind your design decisions.
  • Work across a variety of tools, platforms, and tech stacks, adapting quickly to project needs.
  • Integrate content, media assets, and technical requirements into cohesive, user-centered design solutions.
  • Partner with client technical teams and developers to ensure alignment with brand, technical specifications, and platform capabilities.
  • Propose design and usability solutions to improve flow, clarity, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction.
  • Conduct competitive and UX heuristic assessments and prepare insights reports.
  • Support digital advertising, social, and content teams by implementing tracking, measurement strategies, and metadata.
  • Drive SEO considerations including metadata, page structure, and content optimization.
  • Conduct usability testing, gather feedback, and refine designs at all stages of development.
  • Develop eLearning experiences using platforms such as Articulate Storyline, Rise, Captivate, or Adapt.
  • Ensure all digital deliverables meet AODA and WCAG accessibility standards.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer, or similar role with a strong portfolio.
  • Understanding of interaction design, information architecture, and design systems.
  • Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, and responsive design frameworks like Bootstrap.
  • Experience with CMS platforms such as WordPress, Joomla, Squarespace.
  • Hands-on experience with eLearning authoring tools.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, InVision).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical thinking, and research skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Highly organized — able to manage multiple stakeholders, deadlines, and project demands.
  • Experience in agency or fast-paced project environments is an asset.
  • A collaborative spirit, curiosity, and passion for human-centered design.

Why You’ll Love Working With Nexus

  • Work on meaningful, purpose-driven projects that shape how employees connect with culture, purpose, and strategy.
  • Collaborate with a supportive, multidisciplinary team that values creativity, clarity, and thoughtful design.
  • Enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and opportunities to grow your digital design capabilities.
  • Be part of a consultancy where design plays a pivotal role in storytelling and human connection.

To Apply Please submit:

  • Please no cover letters! Instead, submit a short self-shot video telling us your experience and why you would be great for the role. (Please note that we will ONLY consider application submissions that include this component.)
