Civil Engineer I
AECOM is a global leader in infrastructure consulting, dedicated to delivering innovative solutions for complex challenges. They are seeking a Civil Engineer I to contribute to airport and aviation infrastructure design, working on projects related to runways, taxiways, and terminal support infrastructure under the guidance of senior engineers.
Responsibilities
- Assist with civil engineering design tasks for aviation infrastructure, including runways, taxiways, aprons, grading, drainage, and utility systems
- Support preparation of engineering calculations, drawings, and technical documentation in accordance with FAA, state, and local standards
- Assist in the development of plans, specifications, and cost estimates for aviation projects
- Perform data collection, analysis, and interpretation using established engineering methods
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams including structural, electrical, geotechnical, and environmental disciplines
- Support construction phase services, including review of submittals, RFIs, and participation in site visits as required
- Apply AECOM quality procedures and follow applicable aviation design standards and safety requirements
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field
- No prior professional experience required
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within a reasonable timeframe
- Exposure to AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar civil design software
- Basic familiarity with FAA advisory circulars, airport design standards, or airfield pavement concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Interest in aviation, airport operations, or infrastructure development
