Camera Software Intern
Metalenz is a Boston based venture backed startup developing next-generation imaging and sensing solutions using metasurface technology. As a Camera Software Intern, you will work on applications for meta-optic camera systems and engage with various teams to support the company's goals.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement software that make uses of our unique camera hardware
- Deploy, test, and optimize these apps on mobile devices
- Collaborate by writing documentation, engaging in code review, and commenting on design documents
- Engage with other teams (product, engineering, marketing) to design and deploy software that supports our goals as a company
Skills
- Currently has or in the process of obtaining a BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or relevant field
- Strong programming skills in C or C++
- Experience with software engineering best practices (testing, version control, code review)
- Background in building and deploying applications for embedded systems (through coursework or previous projects)
- Familiarity with image processing fundamentals
- Experience with ARM-based systems and performance optimization (e.g. NEON, DSP)
- Prior work with Android & related tools (e.g. Android Studio) and mobile development
- Understanding of camera sensor interfaces and hardware abstraction layers (HAL)
