Job Description

This role utilizes analytical skills to create a comprehensive estimate of damages for 1st and 3rd party material damage claims leading to the proper disposition. National General Insurance is seeking a Field Auto Claims Adjuster to support our Kansas region. Join our high-performing auto claims team where your estimating expertise, customer focus, and sound judgment shape every outcome. The ideal candidate is located within a 50-mile radius of the service areas listed below (Conway and Fort Smith) and can travel throughout the region to support our customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Applies thorough understanding of regulatory compliance and fair claims practices
  • Builds established relationships with both internal and external customers
  • Exhibits proficient estimating fundamentals in order to create estimates of damages on 1st and 3rd party material damage losses
  • Processes a deep understanding of the content of all policy types written by the company
  • Negotiates settlements, makes settlement payments and documents all activities in the file within escalated authority limits
  • Field inspections on vehicle, total loss evaluations, negotiating with repair shops, some desk review, virtual assist. Reviewing approximately 5 claims per day

Experience

  • 3-5 years of body shop estimator experience
  • Insurance experience

Requirements

  • Ability to work additional hours during catastrophe
