Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Big Data Software Engineer at arenaflex, you will:
- Lead complex projects and initiatives, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver results
- Design, develop, test, troubleshoot, and report on large-scale data systems and applications
- Analyze and resolve complex technical issues, leveraging your expertise in data engineering and software development
- Collaborate with colleagues, managers, and directors to identify and prioritize technical requirements and objectives
- Lead and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying your knowledge to drive innovation and improvement
Required Capabilities:
To succeed in this role, you will need:
- 3+ years of experience in software development, with a strong background in programming languages such as Python, Scala, and Java
- 3+ years of experience working with big data technologies, including Hadoop, Teradata, MongoDB, and AWS
- 3+ years of experience with version control systems, such as GitHub and Bitbucket
- 3+ years of experience with data engineering tools, including Apache Kafka, Apache Flume, and Apache Oozie
- 3+ years of experience with cloud-based platforms, including AWS and Azure
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Capabilities:
While not required, the following skills and experiences are highly desirable:
- Experience with data warehousing and business intelligence tools, such as Tableau and Power BI
- Experience with ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes and data integration tools
- Experience with agile development methodologies and version control systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with data governance and compliance regulations, such as GDPR and HIPAA
