Director Supply Chain & Logistics (Remote)

The Director, Supply Chain & Logistics will oversee all logistics and inventory operations across the organization, including the planning, transportation, storage, tracking, and reporting of materials related to biologics, drug products, medical devices (including hardware and consumables), and ancillary clinical supplies. This includes inventory management across all sites, such as internal facilities, clinical sites, CDMOs, 3PL providers, and external vendors. The role is responsible for coordinating demand forecasts and supply plans in collaboration with cross-functional teams (CMC, Clinical, Development, R&D), issuing purchase requisitions and POs aligned with project timelines, and managing domestic and international shipments, including import/export compliance. This role also involves developing reporting tools and dashboards to monitor inventory levels, timelines, and costs, ensuring transparency and informed decision making. This role requires a high level of organization and attention to detail, effective communication with internal staff, global partners, and vendors. The ability to multi-task, prioritize, and be agile in a high-paced, changing environment is critical. Principal Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

  • Own and manage end-to-end inventory across all products (biologics, drug substances, drug products, medical devices, ancillary supplies) at all storage and use sites, including manufacturers, vendors, CDMOs, 3PLs, clinical sites, and internal facilities.
  • Develop and implement strategies for efficient movement of goods including temperature-controlled materials, including route planning, inventory management, warehousing, and logistics optimization to ensure quality and compliance across all shipments.
  • Collaborate across teams, including but not limited to Drug development, Clinical development, Device development and R&D to forecast material needs, align procurement plans with project timelines, and issue requisitions and POs accordingly.
  • Oversee domestic and international transportation logistics, including coordinating shipments, negotiating with carriers, and managing documentation for both inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate release, storage, replenishment, and distribution of inventory across the supply chain.
  • Monitor and report on inventory levels, costs, and expiry/demand timelines; generate inventory dashboards and reports for management and project teams.
  • Coordinate logistics and documentation with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure the uninterrupted flow of materials.
  • Developing and managing budgets for logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory costs.
  • Identify, implement, and maintain ERP systems and tools to support end-to-end logistics and supply chain operations.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory, safety, and quality standards throughout all logistics activities.
  • Proactively identify and resolve logistical challenges, such as stockouts, shipping delays, or storage constraints.
  • Maintain vendor relationships and manage carrier performance to ensure reliable, cost-effective services.
  • Prepare for and support logistics-related audits or regulatory inspections.
  • Ensure facilities are appropriate for the functions they need to support.
  • Recommend and manage changes to facilities as needed.

Qualification Requirements: Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in logistics, inventory, or supply chain management.
  • Proven experience managing end-to-end inventory operations across multiple global sites including temperature-controlled and sensitive materials.
  • Demonstrated experience developing forecasts, generating requisitions/POs, and coordinating with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience overseeing domestic and international transportation, including cold-chain and ambient shipments, import/export compliance, and carrier qualification. Handson experience implementing and maintaining ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and logistics tracking tools.
  • Prior experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or clinical supply chains strongly preferred.

Knowledge/Skill:

  • In-depth understanding of inventory control, demand planning, and supply chain principles.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and systems.
  • Knowledge of logistics reporting, including dashboard creation, inventory costing, and delivery tracking.

  • Understanding of global transportation regulations and documentation.

Working Conditions

  • The work environment shall be split between a virtual office environment and the Company headquarters in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
  • Domestic travel up to 10% of time

  • Regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing
