Key Responsibilities
Build awareness, increase knowledge, and drive adoption of modern technologies, sharing consumer and engineering benefits to gain buy-in Strike the right balance between lending expertise and providing an inclusive environment where others' ideas can be heard and championed Promote a culture of engineering excellence, using opportunities to reuse and innersource solutions where possible Effectively communicate with and influence key stakeholders across the enterprise, at all levels of the organization Operate as a trusted advisor for a specific technology, platform, or capability domain, helping to shape use cases and implementation in a unified manner Lead the way in creating next-generation talent for Tech, mentoring internal talent and actively recruiting external talent to bolster Capital One's Tech talent Participate in our incubation journey for new SaaS offerings, developing strategies to support scaling beyond the Incubation phase Setup a framework to inculcate new ideas, leveraging state-of-the-art innovations and technologies to curate a continual stream of incubated projects Collaborate with Engineering peers, venture investment, strategy team, and company executives on key innovation initiatives Build a startup environment where innovation, problem-solving, and ownership become key parts of the team culture Essential Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field At least 7 years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture At least 3 years of experience with public cloud technologies Excellent understanding of design patterns and architectural styles Strong soft skills, including attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills Preferred Qualifications Master's Degree in a relevant field 10+ years of experience in software engineering or solution architecture 7+ years of experience designing and building enterprise platform solutions 5+ years of experience with Agile software development 4+ years of experience with public cloud technologies AWS Certifications Skills and Competencies Deep technical expertise and thought leadership in software engineering and solution architecture Ability to visualize the problem space and devise clear roadmaps to deliver next-generation technology solutions Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with key stakeholders across the enterprise Strong collaboration and teamwork skills, with the ability to work with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and excellence Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Capital One, we are committed to helping our employees grow and develop their careers.
