Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Entry Level Medical Biller/Coder Specialist to. As a Medical Biller/Coder Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of medical billing and coding processes. Your primary responsibilities will include working directly with clients and insurance companies to bill and obtain payments for healthcare services rendered, using current medical billing procedures to create and submit medical claims, and resolving denial instances.   • Utilize current medical billing procedures to create and submit medical claims to insurance companies
  • Work directly with clients to create payment plans and resolve billing discrepancies
  • Coordinate with insurance companies to resolve claims and resolve denial instances
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of billing and coding activities
  • Collaborate with the coding team to ensure accurate and compliant coding practices
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date with industry regulations and best practices
  • Provide exceptional customer service to clients and internal stakeholders
  • Work independently and as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and objectives Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., healthcare administration, medical billing, or coding) preferred
  • 0-2 years of experience in medical billing and coding; entry-level candidates with relevant education and training will be considered
  • Strong understanding of medical billing and coding principles, including ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Proficiency in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHRs)
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in medical billing and coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or CCS-P)
  • Experience with medical billing software and EHRs
  • Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., HIPAA, OIG, and CMS)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex billing issues
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple priorities and deadlines Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, insurance companies, and internal stakeholders
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex billing issues
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies
