The Opportunity: Position: Analyst, Merchandising Location: Field Support Center (FSC) - San Francisco, CA About Business Intelligence & Analytics at Sephora: The Business Intelligence & Analytics (BIA) department works in close partnership with key stakeholders across the organization identifying strategic opportunities and making data-driven decisions. We play a critical role in helping cross-functional teams understand the drivers of business performance through the lens of our clients and provide actionable insights across multiple departments from Marketing to Merchandising to Omnichannel Retail to Loyalty. As part of the BIA department, the Merchandising Analytics team plays a key role in evaluating and optimizing brand and category performance at Sephora. Our mission is to empower the business with data-driven strategies, fostering growth and enhancing the client experience. Your role at Sephora: The Analyst, Merchandising - Brand Insights, is responsible for delivering key insights and findings about brand performance at Sephora. This role involves collaborating across the organization to integrate data and client feedback, developing a comprehensive understanding of business trends. The Analyst will compile information from multiple systems, prepare deliverables for brands, and ensure they have the necessary tools for success. Additionally, they will be responsible for developing new dashboards, analyses, and supporting key initiatives for both Merchandising and Brand Marketing.

  • Conduct deep dives and ad-hoc analyses to support brand partners across brands, categories, and products.
  • Develop and maintain robust BI dashboards for comprehensive business performance monitoring.
  • Present key findings, strategic insights, and comprehensive reports to leadership and relevant stakeholders.
  • Optimize and maintain analytical tools, data processing code, and data update procedures to ensure operational efficiency and accuracy.
  • Provide analytical support, training, and guidance via office hours and direct partner engagement for Merchandising Analytics.

We're excited about you if you have:

  • 2+ years of experience in Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Marketing Analytics (retail, CPG, or beauty is a plus)
  • Advanced SQL skills, including joining complex data sets and writing efficient queries
  • Strong experience with BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI, including dashboard development and data source integration
  • Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and complex formulas)
  • A background in client analytics or strategy consulting (helpful but not required)
  • Familiarity with Python or R (a plus)
  • Google Analytics experience (a plus)
  • A bachelor's degree in a quantitative field
  • Strong analytical thinking with the ability to translate data into clear insights
  • High attention to accuracy, consistency, and data quality

The annual base salary range for this position is $101,000.00 - $114,000.00 The actual base salary offered depends on a variety of factors, which may include, as applicable, the applicant's qualifications for the position; years of relevant experience; specific and unique skills; level of education attained; certifications or other professional licenses held; other legitimate, non-discriminatory business factors specific to the position; and the geographic location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will perform the job. Individuals employed in this position may also be eligible to earn bonuses.
