Job Summary
As an Experienced Data Analyst on our Transportation Analytics team, you will play a critical role in analyzing large, messy, and disparate datasets to inform business decisions and drive operational improvements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and Product, to develop data visualizations, create ETLs, and automate reporting processes. Your expertise will be essential in helping us navigate the complexities of transportation operations and make data-driven decisions that drive business success.
Responsibilities
As an Experienced Data Analyst, your key responsibilities will include:
- Working with large, messy, and disparate datasets to perform ad-hoc analyses and inform business decisions
- Developing data visualizations to display and quantify the impact of changes and specific business challenges
- Engaging with cross-functional teams to establish credibility and analyze stakeholder needs
- Partnering with Operations, Finance, and Product teams to ensure data accuracy, completeness, and latency across multiple operations and systems
- Leveraging scripting languages (Python preferred) to automate reporting processes, including screenshots, metrics prioritization, and outlier recognition
- Documenting tactics and sharing expertise with colleagues, including mentoring and subject matter expertise
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Excellent SQL skills, with the ability to govern data from multiple tables while maintaining data integrity (2-4 years of experience)
- Creativity with a User Experience basis to develop impactful Tableau Dashboards (1-2 years of experience)
- Business Operations Fluency, with the ability to recognize and root-cause business problems (Supply Chain background, ideally with transportation experience)
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Advanced experience with SQL and Tableau
- Experience with e-commerce operations or parcel service operations
- Experience with Python or other scripting languages
- Experience with data manipulation tools, including Knime, Alteryx, R, Tableau Prep, etc.
