Key Responsibilities
As an Experienced Retail Customer Service Associate – Print, Signs & Graphics, and Shipping Expert, you will be responsible for:
- Providing exceptional customer service by using consultative skills to anticipate customer needs, suggest alternatives, and find solutions to meet customer needs
- Demonstrating expertise in printing, signs & graphics, and shipping product lines, and recommending appropriate blithequark products and services
- Taking complex customer orders using order systems and providing accurate pricing information
- Assembling parcels and preparing goods for shipping by wrapping items in insulation, inserting items into shipping containers, weighing packages, and affixing labels to parcels
- Setting up and operating printing, binding, and other related equipment using customer-supplied original media and documents
- Maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly retail store
- Processing financial transactions using a Point of Sale terminal (POS), including handling cash and making change
- Cleaning, repairing, and stocking all retail store printing and shipping equipment and supplies to provide optimal performance and availability
- Staying current on retail store merchandising materials and ensuring proper display of all retail area product and signage
- Taking preemptive action to prevent errors and waste
- Completing required financial paperwork and assisting with financial reporting, including daily sales, close-outs, and bank deposits
Essential Qualifications and Requirements
* High school diploma or equivalent education
- 6+ months of specialized experience in retail customer service or a related field
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to stand during entire shift, excluding meal and rest periods
- Ability to move and lift 55 pounds
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to bend/twist at the waist and knees
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and other team members
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to perform work activities requiring cooperation and instruction
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to function in a fast-paced environment, under substantial pressure
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to maintain attention and concentration for extended periods of time
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to work with minimal supervision
- Ability, on a consistent basis, to report regularly to work and maintain established business hours in order to support the blithequark business
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a retail environment with a focus on customer service
- Knowledge of printing, signs & graphics, and shipping product lines
- Ability to operate a variety of equipment, including printing, binding, and shipping equipment
- Experience with Point of Sale systems and financial transactions
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide support to colleagues
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Compensation and Benefits
* Competitive hourly rate: $18.55 - $21.81/hour
