Remote Medical Coder CPC Certification Jobs (Work from Home)

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Remote Medical Coder with CPC (Certified Professional Coder) Certification to join our team at Progressive Technology. This is a fully remote position, offering flexibility and the ability to work from home. As a Medical Coder, you will be responsible for reviewing and coding medical records according to established standards. Your role will be integral in ensuring that all medical procedures, diagnoses, and services are accurately recorded and billed in accordance with current healthcare guidelines. Key Responsibilities:

• * Accurately code medical records based on procedures, diagnoses, and services provided.
• * Ensure coding complies with the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC) guidelines.
• * Review patient charts, medical records, and other healthcare documents to extract relevant information for coding.
• * Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any ambiguities in medical documentation.
• * Maintain up-to-date knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding standards, and any relevant regulatory changes.
• * Prepare coding reports for auditing and billing purposes.
• * Address any discrepancies and correct errors in medical coding in a timely manner.
• * Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners, such as healthcare providers or insurance companies.
• Required Skills and Qualifications:
• * CPC Certification (Certified Professional Coder) is required.
• * Proficiency in coding software and databases (e.g., 3M, Epic, Meditech).
• * Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• * Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• * Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• * Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare procedures.
• * Ability to handle confidential patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
• * Proficient in using bolthires Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience:
• * Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding.
• * Experience in a remote or telecommuting environment is highly preferred.
• * Previous experience with electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing systems is a plus.
• Working Hours:
• * This is a full-time remote position with flexible hours.
• * Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, but flexibility is available based on individual schedules and team needs.
• * Occasional weekend or overtime hours may be required to meet deadlines.

• * Analytical skills to interpret and apply coding guidelines.
• * Time management skills to efficiently handle a high volume of medical records.
