Role OverviewMercor is partnering with a leading AI lab to engage detail-oriented generalists for data annotation projects. Contractors will work on improving AI systems by categorizing and labeling data using predefined taxonomies. This engagement will last through December, with potential for extension.Key Responsibilities
- Synthesize information from large volumes of data.
- Annotate and categorize text, images, and other data in line with detailed guidelines.
- Apply predefined rubrics and taxonomies to ensure structured, high-quality outputs.
- Flag inconsistencies, ambiguities, or errors in datasets.
- Directly influence the improvement of AI systems.
- Based in the United States.
- Ability to synthesize complex or high-volume information into structured formats.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Prior experience applying rubrics, taxonomies, or standardized guidelines to tasks (preferred but not required).
- Remote and asynchronous — contractors set their own schedules.
- Expected commitment: 20 hours/week.
- Project duration: Through December, with potential for extension.
- US-based contractor rate: $40/hour.
- Payments issued weekly via Stripe Connect.
- Contractors are classified as independent service providers.
