About the Data Engineering Team

The Data Engineering team at blithequark is responsible for designing and implementing data pipelines and datasets that support business decision-making. We work closely with various stakeholders, including Choice Science, Client and Innovation colleagues, to deliver high-quality data solutions that meet the needs of our business. Our team is passionate about data and is committed to using the latest technologies and techniques to drive business value.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development and support of cloud-based data pipelines for our Media business. The successful candidate will have a strong background in data engineering, experience with cloud-based data platforms, and a passion for delivering high-quality data solutions.

Key Responsibilities

* Design and implement data pipelines and datasets that support business decision-making

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality data solutions
  • Develop and maintain ETL/ELT data pipelines using SQL, Python, and other technologies
  • Plan and execute data set design, tables, and views
  • Deliver datasets as input to science models and visualizations
  • Work with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Develop and maintain automated work schedulers
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure data quality and integrity

Requirements

* Four-year college degree in Software Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field

  • 2+ years of experience in ELT/ETL data pipeline development and support
  • Strong experience with Python and SQL, ideally with Snowflake
  • Experience with creating in a multi-environment (Dev, QA, Prod, etc.) and DEVOPS strategies for code organization/development
  • Experience creating and maintaining automated work schedulers
  • Strong understanding of data set design and capability
  • Experience working with large datasets and big data technologies, ideally cloud-based, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar
  • Proficient in cloud design and product offerings, ideally AWS
  • Experience managing and delivering code using a source control tool like GitLab/GitHub
  • Experience using Docker

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with cloud-based data platforms, such as Snowflake, Databricks, or similar

  • Strong understanding of data engineering principles and best practices
  • Experience with data visualization tools and technologies
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
