Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Math Instructor / Tutor to join our team at Mathnasium of San Marcos. As a Math Instructor / Tutor, you will be responsible for creating an engaging and productive learning experience for students, providing exceptional instruction and tutoring services, and working collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students. This is a part-time role with flexible hours, offering a unique career path focused on helping the community and working with students.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide exceptional instruction and tutoring services to students, tailoring your approach to meet the individual needs of each student
- Participate in positive interactions with parents and establish a high level of confidence and program value
- Become proficient with digital educational materials and processes, including online platforms and software
- Teach in-center, online, and/or via hybrid delivery using the Mathnasium Method, terminology, and teaching practices
- Assess students' progress throughout instructional sessions and work collaboratively with team members to deliver the best possible experience for students
- Evaluate, grade, and correct student work and homework
- Support the maintenance of a clean and professional learning environment
- Assist with non-teaching and instructional tasks as needed
Essential Qualifications
* A passion for math and working with students
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues
- Exceptional math competency through at least Algebra I
- Ability to balance various ongoing tasks and prioritize responsibilities
- Willingness to learn and be trained in the Mathnasium Method and digital educational materials
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working with students of varying ages and skill levels
- Familiarity with online learning platforms and software
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment
