As an Atlan Administrator, you will work closely with data engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to maintain an efficient, secure, and user-friendly data catalog environment. Your primary responsibilities will include:Key Responsibilities
- Platform Administration: Manage and maintain the Atlan platform, including user accounts, permissions, and integrations with various data sources.
- Data Governance: Implement and enforce data governance policies, ensuring data quality, security, and compliance with industry standards.
- Collaboration Enablement: Facilitate team collaboration by creating and managing metadata workflows, tags, and custom attributes within Atlan.
- Performance Optimization: Monitor platform performance and usage, proactively identifying and resolving issues to maintain a smooth user experience.
- Integration Management: Configure and maintain integrations between Atlan and other data tools (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, Tableau, Looker).
- Support and Troubleshooting: Provide technical support to users, troubleshoot issues, and deliver training to empower teams to leverage Atlan effectively.
- Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and troubleshooting procedures.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay up-to-date with Atlan features and updates, and recommend enhancements to optimize platform utilization.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following skills and qualifications:Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: Proven experience as an Atlan Administrator or in a similar role managing data catalog platforms.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Technical Expertise: Familiarity with data tools like Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, Databricks, Tableau, Looker, etc.
- Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (e.g., Python).
- Soft Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication and collaboration abilities, and ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based platforms and services such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and best practices in data security.
- Atlan certification or training is a plus.
