Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Speech Language Pathologist to join our team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about helping students achieve their full potential. As a Speech Language Pathologist with the Matsu Borough School District, you will have the opportunity to work with students of all ages and abilities, providing therapeutic services to support their communication and language development.

Key Responsibilities

* Provide therapeutic services to students identified as speech/communication impaired, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning

  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to support students' communication and language development
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure that students receive comprehensive support and services
  • Promote positive public relations and meet compliance standards advocated through the Student Support Services Department
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and research in the field of speech-language pathology

Essential Qualifications

* Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or related field

  • Alaska State Board of Examiners in Speech-Language Pathology certification
  • 4 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Strong knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and staff from diverse backgrounds

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience working with students with diverse communication needs and abilities

  • Knowledge of culturally responsive practices and strategies for supporting students from diverse backgrounds
  • Experience with assessment and treatment planning using standardized and non-standardized measures
  • Familiarity with technology-based tools and resources for supporting communication and language development

Skills and Competencies

* Strong clinical skills and knowledge of speech-language pathology principles and practices

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary schedule with an accelerated step advancement, as well as a range of benefits and perks, including:

  • Starting wage: $56,752 - $72,160 per year
  • Additional $3,000 bonus per year for CCCs
  • $3,000 relocation bonus
  • 4 paid personal leave days at the beginning of the year
  • 1.33 sick leave days per month of employment
  • Retirement benefits through the State of Alaska Teachers Retirement System
