Position Summary

We are seeking to build a pool of part-time lecturers to teach a variety of courses in Mathematics and Statistics during the 2023-24 academic year. The ideal candidates will have a strong background in mathematics or a related field, a passion for teaching, and a commitment to student success. Appointments from the part-time pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach lower-division undergraduate courses in Mathematics and Statistics, including supported classes, hybrid classes, trigonometry, precalculus, and occasionally calculus, linear algebra, or differential equations.
  • Develop and deliver high-quality instruction that engages students and promotes academic achievement.
  • Assess student learning and provide constructive feedback.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.

Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree (MA or MS) in Mathematics or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in Mathematics or a related field.
  • Previous teaching experience at the college or university level.
  • Ability and interest in teaching calculus, linear algebra, and differential equations.
  • Bilingual candidates will be given preference.

What We Offer

Competitive Compensation

Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $4,530 - $6,056 per month.

Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,405 - $11,994 per month.

Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,190 - $13,172 per month.

Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $7,794 - $13,797 per month.
