Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Family Health Advocate to join our team in a remote capacity. As a Family Health Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing personalized support to members and their families, facilitating resource and referral navigation, and resolving healthcare-related issues. Utilizing motivational interviewing and guided approaches, you will help members achieve their health goals, reduce costs, and optimize quality care. Key Responsibilities

  • Answer inquiries from members via voice and chat, addressing a range of topics including eligibility, benefit education, open enrollment, claims issues, and provider search
  • Provide proactive care guidance and support for various value-add opportunities, such as closing care gaps, benefits education, and preparing members for scheduled procedures
  • Coordinate issue resolution with providers, payers, or third-party vendors, including claims adjustments, grievances, and appeals submissions
  • Offer community resource search and member preferences management, ensuring that members receive personalized support and guidance
  • Drive member engagement into appropriate programs and offerings, serving as an educator on healthcare-related inquiries and providing excellent multi-channel communication and problem-solving skills

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 2-year associate's degree in healthcare or health sciences preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in healthcare, preferably in a role that involves helping members navigate benefits and claims, such as a Health Guide, Advocate, or Navigator
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively in both voice and chat channels
  • Experience in customer service in a healthcare contact center, provider office, or healthcare institution, with a proven track record of resolving high-level and sensitive customer service issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a remote or virtual environment, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Knowledge of healthcare benefits, claims, and navigation, with the ability to explain complex information in a clear and concise manner
  • Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues and develop effective solutions
  • Experience working with diverse populations, with a strong commitment to cultural competence and sensitivity
