Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging and challenging lesson plans that are tailored to the needs of 6th-grade students
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that promotes academic achievement and social growth
- Use the Montessori method to foster independence, self-motivation, and a love of learning in students
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet the needs of individual learners
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians through regular updates and parent-teacher conferences
- Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in Montessori education
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement curriculum and instructional strategies
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- A valid teaching certification with a Montessori endorsement
- A minimum of a bachelor's degree in education or a related field
- Experience teaching 6th grade or other middle school grades
- A strong understanding of the Montessori method and its application in the classroom
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience with remote or online teaching
- Knowledge of curriculum design and development
- Experience with project-based learning and STEM education
- A master's degree in education or a related field
