About the Role

As a Software Engineer at Blithequark, you will play a crucial part in developing and maintaining our cloud-based microservices, ensuring seamless streaming experiences for our users. You will work on constructing and optimizing systems that enable efficient content delivery, load balancing, and streaming technology. Your expertise will help us tackle complex questions such as:

• How to design systems that react to failure, internet traffic shifts, and different adjustments in real-time?
• How to steer traffic for live streaming over the backbone?
• How to quality assure expecting the maximum popular content to improve the consumer experience?
• What is the gold standard way to percent petabytes of content into our machines to optimize their throughput?
• How to design streaming hardware given customer behavior?
• How to choose the first-class server for every cloud game session?

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain cloud-based microservices that enable efficient content delivery and streaming technology
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and services
• Optimize load-balancing algorithms for hardware utilization and improve system performance
• Develop and implement automation scripts to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall codebase
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies, applying knowledge to improve Blithequark's systems and services

Essential Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development experience with a modern programming language
• Experience in a microservice environment
• Strong understanding of cloud computing, distributed systems, and load balancing
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or C++
• Experience with containerization using Docker and orchestration using Kubernetes
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with streaming technology and content delivery networks
• Knowledge of agile development methodologies and version control systems such as Git
• Experience with cloud-based services such as AWS or Azure
• Familiarity with machine learning and data analytics
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible or Puppet
