A Day in the Life of a Human Resources Administrative Assistant

The Human Resources (HR) Administrative Assistant provides administrative support, ensuring efficient operation of HR functions. This role involves handling confidential information, maintaining employee records, and supporting HR-related communications. The HR Administrative Assistant acts as a liaison between HR staff, employees, and external partners, contributing to a smooth and professional HR environment. Why Work at Cheyenne Regional?

Here is What You Will Be Doing:

  • Handles incoming calls, emails, and correspondence related to HR matters.
  • Maintains database integrity of all HR systems and creates staff and non-staff ID badges including appropriate security profiles.
  • Manages employee change requests including address and names changes.
  • Provides employment verification as requested on present and former employees.
  • Orders supplies, coordinates interdepartmental requests, and is responsible for office operations.
  • Ensures processes and procedures are in compliance with labor laws and internal policies.
  • Supports survey readiness with ongoing mock surveys and file auditing.
  • Supports the Change of Status and Termination processes.
  • Contributes to project execution and coordination under limited supervision.
  • Maintains and monitors personnel files in accordance with Cheyenne Regional policies.
  • Provides general administrative support to the HR leadership contributing to the execution of HR initiatives.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and interaction
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other office productivity tools
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization and external stakeholders
  • Ability to interact respectfully with diverse cultural and socio-economic populations

Here is What You Need:

  • Education or Experience (must meet one of the following):
    • Completion of a Microsoft or similar platform course
    • Six (6) or more months of experience with Microsoft Office or similar platform
  • Six (6) or more months of administrative, clerical, or customer service experience

Nice to Have:

  • One (1) or more years of experience in a Human Resources support role
