About the Finance & Accounting Development Program

The Finance and Accounting Development Program at HNI Corporation is designed to equip new members with valuable core knowledge and experience across various functions, including corporate, operating company, and corporate financial services. As a program member, you'll have the opportunity to work on three to four assignments within the first two years, gaining hands-on experience in:

  • General and consolidation accounting
  • Sales and operations
  • Data management
  • Integrating external and internal data sets for analytical projects
  • Corporate financial services, such as payroll and accounts payable
  • Business and competitor analysis
  • Planning and budgeting
  • Management reporting
  • Plant and cost accounting
  • Risk Management
  • Credit analysis and collections

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Analyst in the Finance and Accounting Development Program, you'll be part of a talented team driving strategic initiatives and achieving business insights through analytics. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business growth and achieve strategic objectives
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement

Essential and Preferred Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration with an Accounting/Finance emphasis, or Business Analytics
  • A minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Relevant work experience, internships, or related activities (such as tutoring or business fraternity involvement)
  • Strong computer aptitude and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • The ability to collaborate effectively with others and work independently with minimal supervision
  • A self-starter with strong personal motivation and initiative
