Experienced Chat Moderator – Remote Community Management and Discord Server Governance

Job Description:

As a Chat Moderator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our official Discord server. This part-time, remote position requires a flexible and self-motivated individual who can work independently to manage user interactions, enforce community guidelines, and resolve conflicts. Key Responsibilities:

* Moderate user interactions on our Discord server, ensuring that all conversations are respectful and adhere to our community guidelines

• Delete messages that violate our rules, including but not limited to hate speech, harassment, and spam
• Ban users who repeatedly violate our rules, after a thorough investigation and review of the evidence
• Mute users who have violated our rules, to prevent further disruption to the community
• Investigate reports made by users about violations of our rules, and take appropriate action
• Collaborate with our team to develop and implement community guidelines and policies
• Provide excellent customer service to users, responding to their queries and concerns in a timely and professional manner
• Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in our community, and make recommendations for improvements to our moderation strategy

Essential Qualifications:

* Must be 18 years of age or older

• Must have a High School Diploma or GED
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
• Familiarity with Discord and its moderation tools
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience as a moderator or administrator on a Discord server or other online community

• Knowledge of community management principles and best practices
• Familiarity with social media platforms and online safety guidelines
• Ability to work in a remote environment and manage your time effectively
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
