About Our Institution

The University of Vermont Medical Center (UVMMC) is the primary teaching hospital of The Larner College of Medicine at The University of Vermont. We are an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center for adult and Level 2 Trauma Center for pediatric patients, and a major tertiary referral center for the state of Vermont and upstate New York. Our emergency department is known for quality patient care and dedicated teaching faculty, with an annual census of 62,000 patients.

Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant/Associate Professor/Professor of Emergency Medicine, you will be expected to: * Provide high-quality clinical care to patients in our emergency department and other clinical sites within our network * Participate in the education and supervision of medical students, residents, and other learners in emergency medicine and related disciplines * Engage in scholarly activities, including research, quality improvement, and educational scholarship * Contribute to the academic and educational missions of our institution, including curriculum development and program evaluation * Collaborate with colleagues to advance the field of emergency medicine and improve patient care

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must: * Be Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) * Be eligible for licensure in the State of New York and Vermont * Have a strong background in emergency medicine, with experience in teaching, clinical care, and research * Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, students, and patients

Preferred Qualifications

* Experience in academic emergency medicine, with a track record of scholarly productivity * Strong teaching skills, with experience in curriculum development and program evaluation * Experience working in a team-based environment, with a focus on quality improvement and patient safety
