We're now seeking an experienced and passionate School Year Tutor to join our dynamic team in Mickleton, NJ. As a School Year Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the academic future of our scholars by delivering personalized instruction and support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with scholars in grades 3 & 4 to build on existing mathematics and/or literacy skills through targeted tutoring sessions.
  • Complete daily records on scholar progress and site needs using the tools provided, ensuring accurate and timely data collection.
  • Use data to drive instruction, tailoring your teaching approach to meet the diverse needs of your students.
  • Communicate regularly with your site coordinator to provide optimum learning experiences for scholars, ensuring seamless collaboration and support.
  • Participate in coaching from an instructional coach, leveraging their expertise to refine your teaching practices and stay updated on best practices.
  • Employ an asset-based approach in working with scholars, focusing on their strengths and potential.
  • Be responsive and work collaboratively with other tutors and site staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Complete all training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must possess the following essential qualifications:

  • Experience working with young children, preferably in a learning and teaching capacity.
  • New Jersey Certification of Criminal History (fingerprint form).
  • Proficiency in Google suite functions, including Google Sheets and Forms.
  • Professional skills such as attention to detail, timely and proactive communication, and job preparedness.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to sites.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • A genuine desire to work with young children in a teaching capacity, driven by a passion for building foundational skills and closing learning gaps.
  • Teaching certification, although not required, is considered a plus.
  • Experience with data-driven instruction and formative assessment practices.
