About the Online Instruction Department

The Online Instruction department at GCU is dedicated to delivering high-quality online education to students from all over the world. About the Position

We are seeking an experienced Online Full-Time Faculty member to join our Science/Chemistry Hybrid team. As a faculty member, you will be responsible for teaching the CHM-101 Introduction to General, Organic, and Biochemistry course and online lab. This is a hybrid position, requiring both remote work and on-site presence at GCU's primary campus. A minimum of four scheduled days per month will be spent at the campus, with Mondays required to be on campus.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate online classes, teaching subjects relevant to the learning needs of students and facilitating engaging individual and group instructional activities.
• Mentor and advise students in concert with the graduation team members.
• Assist students in achieving course objectives and learning outcomes.
• Provide qualitative, holistic feedback to support the numerical score awarded for assignments.
• Compile, administer, and grade examinations meeting prescribed deadlines.
• Remain current in field(s) of expertise through ongoing, continuous learning; fulfill required faculty development sessions.
• May actively participate in department, college, and university committees.
• May participate in research activities and/or collecting and analyzing data.
• May participate in other administrative tasks as necessary, including preparation of reports.
• Act as a course lead, providing guidance and mentorship to GCU's online adjunct faculty teaching the same classes.
• Act as a course lead, collaborate with our curriculum design team to ensure alignment and coherence in course delivery for GCU's online adjunct faculty teaching the same classes.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you must possess the following qualifications:

• Master's degree in the field of expertise, including a minimum of 18 hours in the teaching area.
• Able to pass a pre-employment background investigation.
• IF ROLE IS TO TEACH FOR DOCTORAL COLLEGE: Doctoral Degree required.
• CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES: Depending on discipline/college, may require active licensure in field.
• 3 years' higher education teaching experience preferred.
