About the Role: Data Scientist, Product

As a Data Scientist, Product in our Applied Item group, you will be instrumental in defining our product development strategy through data-driven insights. You'll be working closely with our product development team to establish key metrics, design and interpret A/B tests, and create data visualizations that empower the entire organization to make informed decisions. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the product development team as a trusted partner to identify new opportunities for product improvement and drive innovation.
  • Design, execute, and interpret A/B tests to answer critical questions about the impact of model and UX changes on our product.
  • Establish a data-driven product development culture by defining, tracking, and operationalizing feature, product, and organization-level metrics.
  • Create and disseminate dashboards, reports, and other data products that enable the team and company to answer product data questions in a self-serve manner.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and executives to communicate insights and recommendations.

Essential Qualifications

  • 4+ years of experience in a quantitative role, preferably as a founding data scientist or product analyst at a hyper-growth product company or research organization.
  • Proven track record of designing, planning, and running rigorous analyses with clear insights and product recommendations using SQL and Python.
  • Experience in defining, implementing, and operationalizing new feature and product-level metrics from scratch.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with product managers, engineers, and executives.
  • Strong understanding of statistical analysis and data interpretation, with insights beyond the paradigm of statistical significance testing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge in NLP, large language models, or generative AI.
  • Strong programming background with the ability to run simulations and model variants.
  • Experience in validating quantitative insights with qualitative methods (e.g., surveys, UXR).
