About the Customer Service Engineering Group

The Customer Service Engineering group at Netflix is responsible for enabling our customer support team to assist clients with resolving issues as they attempt to stream or subscribe to our service. We achieve this by creating an effective, adaptable, and robust technology ecosystem that integrates in-house and vendor solutions. Our areas of responsibility include our contact center, CRM, CMS, member management system, and various operational tools. We focus on operational and cost efficiency, agent and customer experience, and enabling rapid innovation in how Netflix approaches customer support.

Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced full-stack software engineer with a strong focus on frontend development to join our Customer Service Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in helping us transform our technology environment from a legacy-based system to one that leverages vendor solutions while still meeting the unique needs of our global, top-tier customer support organization. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving this transformation, which will lay the foundation for future growth and innovation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and deliver high-quality software applications with a focus on frontend development, utilizing your expertise to create intuitive, elegant, and performant user experiences.
  • Own and manage all stages of the software development lifecycle, including planning, design, implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, designers, stakeholders, and vendors on projects to ensure seamless integration and effective solutions.
  • Communicate technical ideas and work closely with both junior and senior members of the team to ensure knowledge sharing and skill development.
  • Help uplevel the team and improve efficiency and productivity through activities such as mentoring, code/design reviews, and driving the adoption and refinement of engineering best practices.

Essential Qualifications

  • 6-8+ years of professional experience designing, building, and delivering quality software on time, with a strong focus on frontend development.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and JavaScript, with experience in React or similar UI frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of API technologies like GraphQL, gRPC, and REST.
  • Master knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and modern design patterns and data layers.
  • Experience integrating internal or external services into your solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with technologies like SpringBoot, RDMS, Cassandra, NoSQL, ElasticSearch.
  • Understanding of or interest in ML/AI and its applications in customer support.
  • Interest in or background in UI/UX design.
  • Experience with third-party or native CRM, CMS, CXM, member management, or CCaaS (Contact Center as a Service) solutions.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $700,000, depending on experience and qualifications. We also offer paid time off programs and flexible downtime for full-time salaried employees.
