Job Overview: Medical Transcriptionist Scribe

As a Medical Transcriptionist Scribe, you'll play a critical role in supporting our healthcare professionals by accurately documenting patient information in our electronic medical records system. This is a part-time, remote opportunity that offers a flexible schedule and the opportunity to work with a talented team of healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Document patient information in the electronic medical record at the direction of the physician or advanced practice clinician.
• Accurately transcribe provider dictation and/or activities, ensuring high-quality documentation.
• Maintain a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and healthcare procedures.
• Utilize computer-based applications to record patient information and support healthcare operations.
• Demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay up-to-date on industry developments and best practices.

Essential Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or GED required; 4-year Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Working knowledge of medical terminology and technical spelling.
• Computer aptitude and ability to quickly learn new applications.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a focus on tracking patient care and improving patient flow.
• Ability to record information accurately and promptly.
• Aptitude to learn or have knowledge of exam, diagnostic, and treatment procedures and protocols.
• Professional demeanor and recognition of privacy considerations for patients and families.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Six months of customer service experience in a medical field.
• Specific medical terminology training.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy, coding, and HIPAA familiarity.
• Medical, procedural, and diagnosis coding experience.
