Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Call Center Representative to join our team as a Member Contact Center Representative 1. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing exemplary service to our members via various channels, including phone, email, web channels, mail, and facsimile. Your primary focus will be on delivering exceptional member experiences, building strong relationships, and identifying opportunities to provide tailored solutions to meet our members' financial needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide efficient and timely service to members via phone, mail, facsimile, and other applicable channels, ensuring quality and accuracy in all interactions.
  • Consult with members to identify their needs, offer solutions, and follow up on pending transactions, holding conversations that matter and building strong relationships.
  • Recommend ancillary products and services to members, as appropriate, based on their individual needs and financial goals.
  • Perform various account maintenance tasks, including changes of address, name changes, adding/updating account setup, and closing accounts.
  • Identify and report suspicious behavior or suspected fraud activity, ensuring the security and integrity of our members' accounts.
  • Complete all required training and compliance modules, staying up-to-date with industry developments and regulatory requirements.
  • Treat all coworkers and members with respect, maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times.
  • Support and participate in continuous improvement activities, contributing to the growth and success of our team and organization.

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • At least 1 year of retail experience, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding service and sales goals.
  • A basic understanding of financial products and services, with the ability to learn and adapt to our credit union's specific offerings.
  • Professional verbal skills and etiquette, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Competent computer knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft applications (Word, Outlook, and Excel), as well as the ability to work with remote signing and webcam technology.
  • Excellent follow-up skills, with the ability to effectively listen, understand, and anticipate member needs.
  • Strong written skills, with excellent grammar and spelling, and the ability to communicate effectively via email.
  • A genuine interest in helping members, with an empathetic and caring nature, and a willingness to make a difference in their lives.

Preferred Qualifications

While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:

  • Previous experience in a call center or customer service environment, with a strong understanding of the principles and practices of exceptional customer service.
  • Knowledge of credit union products and services, with a strong understanding of the financial industry and its regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with sales and cross-selling, with a proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales goals.
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with members from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Education and Training

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary, with a pay scale ranging from $20.00 to $29.17 per hour, depending on experience and location. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
