Tessera is seeking a dependable and proactive Utility Support Manager to help keep critical systems running smoothly at USAFA. In this role, you’ll oversee water, wastewater, steam, and electrical operations, lead maintenance teams, and respond to outages with confidence. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Supervise daily operations and maintenance of utility systems including water distribution, wastewater treatment, steam plants, and electrical infrastructure. Coordinate preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities across utility assets. Monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and implement improvements to optimize energy use and reliability. Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, and federal regulations (e.g., EPA, OSHA). Manage utility personnel, including technicians and operators; oversee training, scheduling, and performance evaluations. Maintain documentation such as maintenance logs, inspection reports, permits, and regulatory filings. Collaborate with engineering and project teams on utility upgrades, expansions, and sustainability initiatives. Respond to utility outages and emergencies, ensuring timely resolution and communication with base leadership. Qualifications: AA or BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is preferred 3–5 years of experience in utility operations, facilities maintenance, or infrastructure management, with supervisory experience strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of utility systems operations, including mechanical, electrical, and environmental controls. Familiarity with SCADA systems, energy management platforms, and automated controls. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and regulatory documents. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Understanding of federal and United States Airforce standards for utility infrastructure and reporting. Physical Requirements: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required. Must have the perseverance to work effectively under pressure for extended periods of time. Requirements: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance for this postion.
